Oropa and JV partner won a tender for D7 against such competition as De Beers and Rio Tinto (btw Rio holds about 30% of De Beers, I think)
Then, late 2000 the permit area fell from the state of Madhya Pradesh to the newly formed state Chattisgarh.
After some month of uncertainty and to prevent other interests to move in on D7 the JV decided to put their case to court.
(also, De Beers, Rio, BhpB experiencing similar problems)
