I do not know who you are referring to when you say "we are all gambling..."
With the benefit of hindsight I can say I probably was "gambling" 20 or so years ago, maybe even 15 if I am to be brutally honest with myself.
I consider myself an investor who undertakes the requisite due diligence prior to pulling the trigger. Yes I assume risk when I take an exposure but this stock specific risk is measured and considered risk leveraging my own knowledge, life experience and that of my network.
This IMO is different from a gambler.
To me a gambler is one that plays the equities market or any market for that matter and is relying on the greater fool theory and/or that they are lean and agile enough not be caught in the exit when the cinema starts to burn.
A gambler may also go play 'red or black' or even those toxic things called slot machines. In many instances in my opinion, your odds can in some circumstances may be better with the latter here, than buying certain shares at certain values that are listed on the ASX or elsewhere.
