How do you have a dog in this fight?

Because I tried to explain me and this world with copious amounts of sex, drugs and rock and roll and it became ever more meaningless.

I knuckled down got married, had children and opened several companies and owed property all over Sydney and it became ever more meaningless.

I sold everything, retired youngish and moved to a country town of 600 people and studied the sciences and educated myself generally, taught myself how to write properly and though this was and still is a positive it did not solve those questions that are not easily put into words. Right back to my hippy days, who am I man, what does it all mean?

I looked into all the major religions and still do. I have read all the major philosophers and the works of the great religious thinkers which I believe is a better way to go than joining a mainstream religion. There was some kind of answer in religion but of course it's buried beneath so much junk that it is all but impossible to find. These religions full of ritual and superstition, contrary to scientific evidence and logic and how this world really works. That simply can't be religion. You see what the friends on here believe regarding a literal Genesis and blood transfusions and God is going to make everything real pretty one day and the like. There is some pale need that humans are willing to forgo their logic, common-sense and grip on reality for to find some kind of solace in fake religious belief and the fellowship of dunces.

It's a human tragedy of some considerable proportion yet when one strips religious belief back, freeing it from superstition and dogma and ritual and its illogical clash with science, there is the potential of an answer that science will likely never answer.

So I think Christ had answers. I also think Moses and Muhammad and Buddha and the Bab and Baha'u'llah and Krishna and the Teachers of indigenous races also had the answers, but the trick is to somehow push through the walls of junk religion that have formed around these answers to see what lies beneath.

So my dog in the fight is only a chihuahua because I'm hoping that one day somebody on HC will surprise me. Nowadays I'm more interested in grandkids, fishing, surfing and reading good books. I better throw a wife in the mix somewhere as well.

Why the use of capitals such as 'He' and 'Him' when you discuss Christ? I use capitals for all the Prophets of religion and Their Scriptures and Their personal pronouns out of a respect for them that has slowly dawned on me.
