Thanks h00ts, having the red daily shorts pushing down, illustrating the negative aspect of their sales, and the yellow area chart behind to show the overall short position movements seems to work well.
The chart format is pretty much set now, with just a couple of small changes still to be made.

yes, a proper short squeeze is fairly rare these days on stocks (they are much more common in futures markets for sure).
Speaking generally, the percentage of short positions that are actually there for profit (as opposed to being part of a strategy position, hedging a long portfolio, or to keep price in check as part of an accumulation), will almost always have their exit already planned, often that will be an off market transfer in a large liquid stock, or even more commonly via a capital raising. The squeeze only really happens now, when plans go awry for some reason (eg- an expected capital raising does not go ahead as planned, because it is now unnecessary).
