I didn't see the post from @burningtiger, but assume the link you posted related to the original post of this thread. As I read the abstract, the study compared a "suitable alternative" to pulmonary allografts . A pulmonary allograft is when a valve is taken from a cadaver. As with any transplant from cadavers, I imagine pulmonary valves are in limited supply. The fact that the study chose to compare cardiocel with pulmonary allografts, would seem to me an endorsement of cardiocel's lead in the field. From the abstract, I can't see that cardiocel was compared to any other patch, so I wonder how you conclude that cardiocel "works as good as any other patch". Obviously, like anything in the real world, cardiocel
"isn't perfect and can have issues", but that's just stating the obvious.
