I doubt the USA had consideration for any country , including China . Especially in 1937 onwards .
Their main game has always been the production of arms - Lend Lease , arms for GB and Russia . There was US support of China during the war but that was mainly for use of airstrips . Australia was also just a giant land base for the US to springboard through the Islands , a safe base . That's all we were to them .
We got their second rate army , NZ got their Marines
The US had convinced allies to withhold resources to Japan as well - Good old Pig Iron Bob sent plenty of scrap iron / steel to the Japs , a lot of it came back in the form of Ships , planes , Guns and Bayonets
