    I think the interest rate assumed by AFR is highly inflated. I checked a few other ASX companies, they all seem to be getting around 0.7 p.a% return on their cash (just a rough calculation, as I did not go through all details of their reports). Certainly not 1.5% as the article somehow implied.

    On the same subject, is there something that binds BIG to necessarily keep all its cash in Australian accounts, considering it is currently largely focused on US expansion, and that money is expected to fund US growth? Not sure, but I think interest rates for US business accounts are near zero (correct me if not).

    I can't image a company takes all the sophisticated effort to fabricate books, and then makes a silly mistake of putting zero for interest earned.
