The very fact that I carry something in my pocket that will allow me today to buy gas / petrol at 1921 prices is all I need know about the value of precious metals as a store of wealth and purchasing power protection. No doubt I will be able to do likewise in twenty years’ time; however, one wonders what the US paper dollar will buy then. That’s if it’s still around after this next round of debt raising.
