Despite a lot of big promises, battery systems manufacturer Alevo may have foundered on relatively small debt — totaling as little as $20 million, according to its initial bankruptcy filings.
    Investors

The bankruptcy has focused renewed attention on Alevo’s investors. The Norwegian newspaper Dagens Naeringsliva( Today's Business) reported that investors include Russian Oligarch Dmitry Rybolovlev and a Norwegian named Gjermund Cappelen, who has been charged in one of that country’s largest drug smuggling cases.
The paper reported Rybolovlev took control of the company in the summer of 2016 after investing more than $126 million in parent Alevo Group. He put two additional associates on the Alevo Group in December and by May had “cleared the entire management of the battery company," according to the report, which added that “almost all (Alevo founder) Jostein Eikeland men are out.”

Scratch the surface some more guys!

The Russian Billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev could of easily loaned some money to Alevo. Why didn't he?
