Agree with most, but the media story wasn't a stupid mistake but a stupid miscalculation. They thought the story would run after release to market and they could claim that they briefed the journalist after release to market. Obviously having a story running at the same time as the release to market coming out would have caused an exaggerated spike in the sp during the first hour of trading, when so much short term money can be made. The upshot is that AUZ has shown to have poor corporate governance and that needs to be fixed asap and that might be (I am speculating) the real purpose of the trading halt, which may yet be extended into a suspension from quotation on Monday.
SK would want to fix the corporate governance as much as the ASX and ASIC, and the simplest way would be for SK to become a controlling shareholder, something they signal they want to do anyway by promising to buy 20% at 12c, a nice little tactic that ensures the price doesn't structurally rise above 12c and with plenty of opportunities to buy on market below 12c for some time to come. With a controlling holding they can turn AUZ into a professional operator.
I'll be buying in when SK takes charge.
