If it locks out a competitor or two it’s worth doing.
Some countries recognise other countries patents and some don’t I can never get my head around it, has to do with international agreements and trade agreements and the like I believe. There is a reason why there is a specific field in patent law.
It is easier I understand to have a patent approved in many countries if already approved in one as most of the hard work is already done. We may see other patents filed in other countries once it is approved in Australia.
