" exercising faith" sounds like an addition to justify that you need to "exercise" or work for your salvation, as merly believing is not enough, even though this is the most common translation.

Locky, I would assume you realize Satan 'believes' salvation comes through Jesus. Is he to be saved because of his belief?
Jesus taught 'belief' in him would lead to works in imitation of him.
John 14:
