I think this will tie into the CSIRO work. If it does, it's odd they didn't mention it but I still think it's related. They (ARV and CSIRO) need to find the source of the gold and other minerals so they're going super deep and running DHEM surveys to see if they can work out what the hell is going on (Wits mineralisation goes down as far as 4km from memory). I doubt they're proposing to extract gold that deep.

Just like Wits, this may be a geological anomaly and we need to better understand it.
