You clearly have no idea the cost of electricity in the commercial/industrial scale.
$12k per year is nothing in comparison to the annual electricity cost.
To give you a rough estimation, I run a OEM parts painting line and our electricity bill is over $200k per annum. This is not running 24/7 and the facility is under an acre.
So take Nestle's factory for instance, they're definitely a few acres huge, running on machinery 24/7, $12k per year is probably a fraction of what they spend on electricity.
