Now for something for the grown-ups, I was dubious when I first read this as I have plenty of experience dealing with commercial labs testing metals concentrations in groundwater. In my head i was thinking "why the delay? Its just a straightforward mass spectro analysis. Most likely concs are trace = not good".

HOWEVER, I do not have experience with testing brines and was not aware of the challenges that come from supersaturation. Li is the lightest metal in the periodic table which makes it very difficult to test with mass spectro. WETLAB, the laboratory doing the testing, is an industry leader in best practice for analysing lithium brines.
