Broosta, Just by looking at the unit its at least a IP4x level, In fact it's probably IP 5x rated

If IP is really an issue for placement of these units, they can be installed in a higher IP rated box.

That's the normal approach to installing electrical equipment in power stations or outdoor evnirons. I spent a few years at Loy Yang A as an Electrician in my younger days.

I would expect there would be some impact from electrical/RF, interference, temperature and vibrations but I assuming it would be not too dissimilar to most building's plant rooms, where just having fluorescent lights, HVAC units and starting motors can introduce enough electrical noise to impact most electronics in some ways.

Installation, shielding and physical protection is key to mitigating any operational issues affecting units like Buddy's. Saying that, Im confident that the installers, engineers and tech folks know how to deal with these issues.

IMHO, I don't believe the hardware design is a real impediment to 99% of Buddy's target customers.
