Next of Kin take charge after bloodless coup

The bloodless coup at Kin Mining is complete after the company’s technical director David Sproule followed former managing director Don Harper out the door.
Kin said yesterday Mr Sproule had resigned from the company’s board and that it had appointed Talisman Mining chairman and Pilot Advisory Group principal Jeremy Kirkwood as independent non-executive chairman.
Outgoing chairman Trevor Dixon will take on the role of interim managing director while the company looks for a new boss. He will remain a non-executive director.
Mr Harper’s departure was prompted by a group of shareholders, including former board members Terry Grammer and Marvyn (Fritz) Fitton as well as Orbit Drilling, who moved to oust Mr Sproule from the board.

The stoush represented the re-emergence of a board dispute a little over a year ago that led to Mr Grammer and Mr Fitton retiring and the appointment of Mr Harper and Mr Sproule.

Kin began site works at its flagship Leonora gold project last month.
The $35.4 million project is expected to produce 55,000ozpa over an initial seven-year mine life.
Kin shares closed 2¢ stronger at 27¢ yesterday.
