Well, speaking from an impartial point of view (and it is hard to do so being an ARL holder!), Cobalt 27 does have an upper-hand over an explorer or even a miner producing cobalt. That's because the cost of physically storing cobalt should theoretically be much cheaper than exploring/mining/refining the material.
Furthermore, due to the unusual difficulties involved in producing the material itself (ie. that it is mostly produced as a byproduct of another material, thereby creating a dependency on the price of the other material), the idea of simply holding the material during a time when the price of the material was going up was pure genius, to be honest.
