I would assume that a lot of institutional capital is being withdrawn from equity markets in general, while people mull over the US macroeconomic tickers. This seems to be the case in the cobalt market cap and volume index I've posted in the Cobalt topic, on both ASX and TSX. The increased volatility of recent times would be a triggering event for lowering exposure and protecting capital in havens like govt bonds and offshore accounts. As things settle down it will rapidly return as institutions get fomo on lower equity prices.
The LIT ETF is showing signs of a reversal, so could indicate positive times in the short term for liths:
