It's not just the barriers, (with 600mm clearance at the bottom),

not a problem with getting 'blocked' up with debris.

A "Do not cross" barrier, even a person there to police the crossings,

with a really hefty fine for not complying.

Won't be long, and even a rescue worker may die, perhaps then they'll get serious

about protecting the 'fools' from themselves.

On the news again, as I type, emergency services workers are PLEADING

with people to (not) drive through flooded crossings.

Only way most people will listen, is to hit them in the hip pocket.

An experienced 4WDriver wouldn't have attempted this crossing.
