They think by declaring interest some of the smaller players will walk away from the table, leaving it to them. Get rid of the tyre kickers. By declaring, they are hoping to be the only guy left standing.

AVZ is alternately hoping the interest expressed will attract other really big players who really have the money to do a proper deal. We want some big guys at the table.

I think AVZ is right. Too many countries have Lithium on their critical assets list and there is precious little of it not already locked up by someone. AVZ is saying this is moving quickly, you should step up now if you are serious rather than waiting.
