Sometimes you learn the hard way, losing your own hard earned cash.

Sometimes you learn the easy way - watching others make mistakes like this, and then compounding it through commitment bias and a refusal to accept reality.

It's fascinating to see the investment behaviours, how people cling to false hopes and disregard facts that do not suit their worldview. In future this will be useful for me to reflect back on, to recall how others have behaved here so I can more self-aware and avoid getting into the same mental traps.
