I didn't think you needed to have explained your past actions. There will always be posters who question a moderator's motives, challenge a moderator's decision to moderate or suspend; it is just human nature and it is there in all facets of human life. You were a mod and you carried out your role as a mod in the way you saw fit. Until recently, mods were not identified and you did not have to identify yourself if you chose not to. I do not see anything wrong in that.
