    Good morning traders,

    US Market Update
Yesterday was one of the weirdest tapes I’ve seen in a while. Breadth was poor and most sectors were down most of the day. Small and mid-caps fared much better than the Dow and S&P. Share imbalance on the close was neutral. Many traders are befuddled and cautious as the ES contract rolls over.
Gold broke overhead resistance but gave up yet again and is having a down day, along with copper and oil as the USD rallies.

Yesterday, the DAX closed up over 1% and started today’s session lower but waffled on the ECB conference and went green as the EUR/USD reversed its initial gain. US Futures traded in tandem with the German cash market.

Today’s news stream revolves around billionaires breaking with Trump on the idea of tariffs. The pressure is building against the idea both in Congress and on Wall Street – a distinction of dubious import. US steel workers are showing up to the White House today and it will be interesting to see how the Administration juggles the upcoming special election in southwestern PA (steel country) next week against the current share market cachet.

    SPX/ES/SPY: 2730/2730/273.22
S&P futures bounced off 2681.25 (SPX/SPY 2680) - on Tuesday night and got back to an RTH high of 2730.25 as cash market participant’s cycled through various sectors doing heaven knows what.

Today, the SPX is now above its 5 and and struggling a bit with its 50 day moving average and the VIX is quite subdued. For some this is very bullish, for many others it is a chance to take a break and watch the action during what might be an inflection period. 2730 is absolutely magnetic as today’s trade revolves around this point of weekly resistance. This could all change on a single headline as interpreted by the machines.

    Market Internals
