misty, don't take it personally. Each of us can only go on our own experiences which we may or may not pass onto others. But for many of those others ,their only knowledge may have come from someone who has a bad experience, and we all know that bad news travels faster than good news., especially if the media gets hold of it.
It was only in the last couple of years that we have had to make much use of the medical system. Prior to that we were subjected to the same negativity as everybody else. Once we could see for ourselves just how well the system was working. our impression changed completely. On a number of occasions as part of saying thanks to various people in the system, I mention how different what we see is to the general impression created in the media. Each time there is a smile and a nod as they acknowledge that, yes, there is a lot more going on in the system than what most people realise. But like I said, that is only our personal experience here in Victoria.
