Not really glendower! The reality was that the Abbott leadership had basically gone putrid and the lib MPs wanted to remove him and replace him with Turnbull. When it happened Turnbull amongst the reasons included the observation that thirty Newspolls in a row were also a fact.

The difference between then and now is that Libs MPs have no appetite for leadership change seeing no benefit in going down that road. Also back in Abbotts time bill Shorten was well ahead of Abbott as preferred PM but not so with Malcolm Turnbull. The Lib MPs imo are emboldened by the fact that there has been employment growth and are hoping that personal tax cuts for middle income earners that will soon be announced will turn the electoral tide.

Dex on the other thread talks about rose coloured glasses when its obvious mine are crystal clear and tell it as it is!
