Once the financial meltdown really happens in the US and Europe next year BHP will be sold down. This is just a smallish taste. Base metals will be smashed. Steel mills in China will renege on their iron ore and coal contracts and demand lower prices in the light of difficult circumstances.
China's own financial system will be impacted by massive internal bad debts. This will have a knock on effect on their economy.
BHP back to below $30 by mid 2008.
