Australia doesn't have a car industry left. By 2030 the world will be dictating to Australia what cars we drive and they will be EVs mainly, except for regional areas where the infrastructure may not be in place.
The only disappointing thing for me, and outside AVZ and this forum I guess, is with the emerging lithium plays in WA, Australia is still in the mentality of dig it up and sell it just like we did in iron ore and coal (rather than how can we further improve value by converting the sales here into the higher value add product of lithium carbonate and hydroxide). We have the gas reserves and energy sources here to do those conversion processes given the energy intensive nature of undertaking that conversion process (i.e. it is not about labour cost). A bit off topic but all IMO
Ironically, given the need to reduce transport costs I suspect that AVZ will be exporting both 6% spodumene concentrate and lithium carbonate as I posted a while back, so see the DRC benefiting from value adding undertaken there - Post #: 30759223.
All IMO
