Before the Yodas of the world start, yes, management should be held accountable. However, this is a two way street. If others are impacting our capital, I think it's fair to analyse their motives. For someone who has done so much deep digging, I would have thought he might also question this random report that just happened to appear in his lap...

Transcript around the OM report. For the record, I call BS...

JS: So the ownership matters report came out on the Monday evening ahead of our article.

(The day https://www.shortman.com.au/stock?q=BIG reports that 29% of that day's turnover was sold short)

PC: And Ownership Matters who are they?

    JS: Um? They are…

    PC: Corporate Governance?

JS: Corporate Governance? Forensic. So they did a very detailed report on BIG Un on the Monday evening I think it was sent out to their clients. Well that was the Monday ahead of our article which came out on the Thursday and Friday. So we obtained a copy of that article and that made us aware of issues that we hadn’t really picked up in our earlier article/coverage which was around issues of disclosure for the chairman.

PC: PC Any why did Ownership Matters look into things. Was that part of their purview generally?

JS: I’m not sure. You’d probably have to ask them. I don’t know why they looked into it. I think they just found it was a very interesting company for all the reasons that I looked into them originally.

PC: Ok yeh. So this is something they do?

JS They.. yes.  Their report looked into the disclosures of the chairman and it also looked into that issue I raised earlier around the share issuance. So they did more analysis. I think their conclusion was that if the share issuance was in lieu of expenses then if you treated them as expenses then you’d have to reconsider the financial position...

Last time I checked. OM is not a registered charity. Someone pays them for these reports. They don't do this for a hobby. Tie this in with the timing of 29% short sales. All just a bit too convenient for my liking and yet Johnny has referenced this report extensively in his articles...
