The announcement seems to put blame for failure mainly on the company's inability to shrink the TPM-Oxymorphone patch to about the size of the existing Japanese fentanyl patch. The existing Durotep MT 16.8 milligram fentanyl patch measures about 6x7 cm. That is NOT a small patch.

However, this is a three day patch, so a one day version could be one third the size, or so it would seem.

That would make a one day fentanyl patch about credit card size, the very size that Esra Ogru described to my face seven years ago as the size of the long forgotten systemic oxycodone patch, supposedly just shown to have delivered therapeutic dosage transdermally. Now, knowing what we know about the lady, I am no longer shocked by this deception, but it does still shock me a bit to realize that Paul Gavin, who was present, was quite comfortable to allow this apparently deceptive description to go unchallenged.

So now we are supposed to accept that the company, with seven years of additional development, does not have the ability to produce a patch delivering a therapeutic dose of oxymorphone, a far more potent opioid than oxycodone, in a similar sized patch? The stench arising here extends beyond Esra Ogru.

It appears that the company has been systematically deceptive about the size of the TPM patches for years.
