Before jumping to the bottom of this post where you can find an overview of the Top-20 for the past several months up to today, just a few words of caution (besides that the table's font might be too small to be readable).

At first blush it appears a lot has changed between January and now:

    1. Most significantly, where did Huayou go? They are listed as holding 186,000,000 shares on 30/11/17, 29/12/17, and 25/1/18 but now are no longer listed. I have asked AVZ for clarification -- as any changes in holdings of major shareholders like Huayou should be reported to market -- and the answer is that Huayou spread their holdings over several nominee accounts. (What prompted them to do so now and not in the past is unclear.)

    2. It appears ML sold 4,715,257 shares. After some investigative work I found the same number of shares, 4,715,257, were added to David Robinson's account (who was previously not in the Top-20). David is Airguide's CEO (https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-robinson-a240759a/) so this seems an on or off market transaction between Airguide management. (Or, might reflect a transfer between different nominee accounts, like Huayou.)

    3. Gilbert Yu went from 0 to 8.6 million to almost 11 million shares, but then sold out and now holds 1.5 m shares.

    4. The biggest change is JP Morgan Nom: previously this was the only listing big enough to accommodate Dathomir's 240 million shares. But today's top-20 shows JP Morgan went all the way down from 320 million to 128 million shares, and so it is unclear under what account Dathomir's shares are held (presuming they still hold all 240 m shares, which they should as otherwise the market should have been informed).

    5. Unfortunately, I could not figure out who our north-american CR friend is (the reason I purchased the register).

What to make of all this?

Conclusion 1. Nothing changed, all good. Previously, Huayou was listed under their own name and Dathomir's shares were held by JP Morgan. Recently, they, and others, decided to "share the love" and spread their shares over many different nominee accounts.

Conclusion 2. It's a bit odd AVZ cannot produce consistent Top-20s. After all, the mere idea of purchasing a Top-20 several times (@ $275 each) is to spot major changes. Other ASX coys list their Top-20 for free on their website and update it monthly (and provide more detail), e.g.
