Reminds me of a situation i saw in a bank in Dar few years ago. I was in a line up waiting to deposit USD for a lease payment. Some yank gentlemen was getting irate at the teller girl making her count the money over and over, each time his voice getting louder. She complied each time but just got slower and started to pretend to be dumb. In the end she just shut the window. All over red rover for all of us for the day. I said to him, why didnt you just slip her the nominal gift. Haha. Not sure if the gentlemen got his money back either.
Moral of the story, slowly slowly with gentle persuasion but never repeat yourself unless asked. They hear you quite well. Their agenda is not aligned with yours.
History...you need to read up more how Tanzanians run railways and mines. Seriously, they run them into the ground. hahaha.
