what would make it more fair is to set the income tax threshold at around say 50000$ that way nobody pays more tax on a "liveable" wage and gives all the incentive to earn more money,.... that way any couple earning 100k on their super pays no tax either and no need to draw a pension, which as some of us might know is like trying to buy something huge, so much paper work and so inefficient. also every person who earns up to 50k gets the equivalent of the seniors health care card! what we want is something that inspires the aspirationals and simplifies the whole process,, imho
