doom, Being for the takeover and being involved with FAS are not the same thing. Just because you follow a football team, doesn't make you a player.
My reasons for supporting the FAS takeover is the same as you backing your AFL team.
I have a belief that a combined FAS, GWR, Classic will have a much greater chance of delivering a world class project than GWR has of going it alone. FAS has some infastructure as well as transport rights on it's ajoining tenements, as too does Classic if rumours are correct.
I do agree that 7 for 1 is not a realistic price if Fas wish to gain control of GWR, a cash component would certainly make the offer more tempting than all script.
But I'm sure there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes on improving the acceptance rate. FAS isn't about to give up without a fight, so I'd say it'll be quite some time before the fat lady starts singing.
Just my opinion, but I see a much bigger picture than you're looking at.
