I think you captured it here. "BRB is a gamble not a sure bet."

I don't mind attempts at logical conclusions and I think there are a good number of you who use data to draw your conclusions. I applaud that. BRB threads often have some useful and thoughtful analysis and I don't mind that. I don't mind conclusions based on the balance of probability provided it's clear that's what is being done.

But I don't feel particularly comfortable with posts that deal in emotional language that feel like pumping. I don't like posts that feel like avarice has replaced reason. I don't like a business saying something and not doing it but I like even less posts that then explain that away

It's personal opinion and yes my experiences have shaped my views. So while I'd like to think that at some point the belief in BRB is rewarded my comments are designed to simply introduce a note of appropriate caution when the emotion rises.
