The quote is scary and affronting to some but if they look a bit deeper they will surely see as a very pertinent statement.
We may not like the idealology of it but all governments practice it...some more covertly than others.
I spent one short business trip about 12 years ago in Singapore. Only 4 days but managed to visit Santosa (had to ferry as the cable wasn't working)only place to get a cheapish cold Tiger and went to an open air food court..something circus? where I got food poisoning. Bad prawn but have had worse from a chinese in Busselton but still remember how ill I was.
Had my first Singapore Sling at the Raffles. Think it was about $15.00AUD even back then.
Trying to remember the hotel we stayed at...it was the one with 75 floors...restaurant up top...just looking out the window from 10 feet away was scary.
But most of all I remember the friendliness and the cleanness.
