actually, I did read that the universe is expanding because of the heat within (lots of stars so can't argue with that) - if the expansion is accelerating does that mean it's getting hotter? The poor buggers sweating in Melbourne today would no doubt agree :P Oops could be another theory for global warming: we're just a bun in a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig oven.
