Cheers kn_ght, good question
From my understanding the merger is to facilitate manufacturing and beneficiation industries. By consolidating departments this should bring greater clarity and ease of communications.
For a miner that is solely a miner, this has no impact. However if they are intending on upgrading the ores or processing domestucally in Tanzania, this is where support is likely to come into play.
Magnis has already approached the EPZA and received SEZ licence a year ago. This was recently reconfirmed with much more favourable terms regarding what is considered as part of the mining and what is consideted as part of the processing aligned with the SEZ terms.
The industrialisation agenda is being pushed hard in Tanzania at the moment and looks like they're ramping it up quickly to make it viable and get all the attention away from the disgruntled miners. All IMO
