"My support of the takeover bid is because it suits me financially. If I was to sell my GWR shares on todays price I would get $2.31 a share, if I convert them to FAS at 7 for 1, with the current FAS shareprice sitting on $0.37, then I recieve the equivilent of $2.59 a share. a profit of $0.28 a share".
Take a look at the example below and tell me based on your info above how you can profit from the conversion?????
Typical Mum and dad investor holdings
Shares Price Value
Example
GWR 100000 2.31 $231000
Convert to
FAS 700000 0.37 $259000
After Dilution allowing for a minimum 15% Dilution
FAS 700000 0.3145 220150
After Dilution 0.3700 0.3145
Loss in Value on Holdings after Conversion $10,850 ($231000 less $220150)
And that does not include any taxes payable by
shareholder. Just confused how one can profit from a conversion when generally the value of shares drop in price on consolidation unless of course FAS releases information to the market that may support the present price.
Just an opinion but totally confused.
