The ambiguity of discipline; I am not quite sure what it really means to be discipline. If one had a diehard view of a stock and then management bring out some really earth shattering news, is changing one's view with new information considered ill discipline?
I find it best personally getting in at a level that has some technical relevance in a stock/sector I want to be involved. If upon entry it was a falling knife and tolerance of drawdown exceeded, get out and reanalyse. Stick to a plan before entry because when money is down the line, bias and cloudy thinking sets in. Whoever think pessimism when risking $$ but that is what I force myself to do so I know within reason what I must do when I am wrong. I never want to dig a big hole because I "know" where price is going in the future.
My preferred choice is average up rather jump in big initially. There is no free lunch in this game. I leave gut feel at the door before I decide. Good luck.
