My thought is that any preditor after acreage off the Africa coast would see FAR as a gift from the gods..

Being the only Jr. Oiler from Oz there at the moment. If you were planning such a T/O you would have set the game into action months ago. And they have... Would you wait for FAR to farm out part of the 30% of the Senegal project, or would you make damn sure you grabbed it prior to any reduction?.

Look at the MC today, if you went into a hostile T/O and had to pay 150% - 200% more than the MC would your shareholders give you a pat on the back and call you a hero ??? ie CEO of the year maybe. You bet they would.
I think the FAR shareholder would have to sit back and watch the game with little or no say. Numbers are just not there for a fight amongst us minority holders. I think the majority of the T20 are unified.

It all has to happen soon IMHO and later this month the SP could very well be twice what it is today. Saw it all happen before in 05/2006. The Industry was hedged at that time and it fell apart

I don't see the boys who pull the levers making the same mistake again. With POO at $100/bl, as was stated on this thread earlier, we now have the opportunity to watch the SP ramp up just as quickly as we saw a year and a half ago. The windows of opportunity are lining up again. My feeling is it will happen very soon and it will surprise the sceptics.

Imagine next week opening strong based on this weeks indicators.

BG a low risk well and it comes in at 20 mbl up 10 cents.
First of 4 wells.
3D Seismic falls into the higher than expected category of Seismic results and bang up another 8 - 10 cents.

Oh happy days...
