Jensdab, does you brother have an online etrade account ?? it's not hard to buy yourself and it may be in his own best interest to do so. Tomorrow morning may be a good buying opportunity as the dow was well down on Friday night. CVI has habit of dropping on open when the DOW has been down heavily but usually recovers a bit after 15 minutes. So just a bit after open may be a good time. Perhaps you could stay up late and "Skype" him through it.
Also as your brother is trading in Australia perhaps it may be in his best interest to buy ops (CVIO) instead. Even though the premium is very high he could still get many more ops than shares. They don't expire till the end of 2009 so he may more cash to convert by then or he may choose to sell a few of the extra ops to pay for the conversion. We are all expecting CVI to be much higher by the end of 2009 so buying the ops may prove very profitable for him.
