There is nothing wrong with shorting if you think the stock will go down. If they are wrong and it goes up, they lose the same way that we lose when we are holding long. This isn't worth a thread, and certainly isn't a joke. The phrase "Don't hate the player, hate the game" comes to mind. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.
PS. I'm a holder with a long term view but even I understand that, given current market conditions, this could be volatile over the next few months.
