Mallees for carbon credits are an extremely poor land use choice. Much more profitable ways for farmers to derive income from a land base even if it is marginal.
In case you haven't noticed, we are at the early stages of a major secular bull market in agricultural commodities. If you're planting mallees you would be better to forgo carbon credits so you have the option to cut the trees down and exploit likely emerging markets in biomass to liquid fuels.
Do yourself a favour and google 'Iogen+Shell+Goldman+Sachs+cellulosic+ethanol'
Major con-job this carbon market fiasco!
