RIP Paul Basinski. I never had the opportunity to meet you, but could clearly sense the man you were, from the various recorded and reported meetings with the 88e faithful in London. No doubt your loss will be keenly felt by your loved ones as well as those who have had the chance to meet you. My heartfelt condolences to all.
Your professional legacy will be forever marked in history. Our current shared venture has been an exciting journey so far, in which you, more than anyone else, had captured the imagination and excitement of multitudes of punters across the globe. A venture and a journey largely sparked by your rich tool chest of knowledge, passion, perseverance and belief. It is a legacy that you leave behind with us, and perchance an opportunity to prove you right. Which will be a fitting addition to that legacy.
Tonight, I will raise a glass or two of Burgundy in your honour. RIP.
