The Dot itself emits a unique wavelength. That is the actual security feature.
The device simply detects and displays for the user the wavelength emitted. It doesnt add any additional security to the quantum dot itself. The quantum dot is its own physical particle with its own unique properties.
Its no different from using a geiger counter or some other device to take readings.
