    What are the system requirements for CommSec Professional Trader?

    CommSec Professional Trader has been built on the Microsoft.Net framework which must be installed on your computer before Professional Trader will run. To run CommSec Professional Trader, users are required to download an installation package from the CommSec website and install the application on their own PC.

    CommSec Professional Trader supports PCs running Windows 2000 and higher. For optimal performance, we recommend running CommSec Professional Trader on machines with a minimum of 256 Megabytes of RAM and on more recent operating systems.

    CommSec Professional Trader is not designed to run under any Macintosh operating systems.
    How do I download Professional Trader?

    In the first instance, you need to determine if you have Microsoft.Net installed. If you don’t have .Net installed or you’re not sure,

    1. Download the installation package from the following address:

    Visit the Microsoft.Net Framework Version 1.1 Download page

    Please be aware that this is a 23.6 Megabyte download but you will only need to download and install the program once.

    2. Left click on the Download link in the top right hand corner of the new window.

    3. Choose the ‘Run’ or ‘Open from current location’ option.

    4. Choose Yes to install and then click on Ok to complete installation.

    5. Download the Professional Trader installation package from the following address:

    http://images.comsec.com.au/downloads/protrader/commsecpro.msi

    This file is 5.36 Megabytes in size and shouldn’t take more then 5 minutes to download on a broadband connection or up to 20 minutes for 56K modem users.

    6. When the download is complete, left click on Run. When running the installation, CommSec recommends you to accept the default items and folders displayed so left click on Next to proceed.

    7. Launch CommSec Professional Trader via the shortcut icon on your desktop called ‘CommSec Professional Trader’ or under your Programs folder via the Start button.

    8. To log-on you will need your CommSec client ID and your existing TD user ID password. To find your CommSec client ID visit the CommSec homepage www.commsec.com.au.

    Are you receiving the following security message when installing Professional Trader: "The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software"?

    If so, click on the “Run” button to continue with the installation.

    Are you receiving the following error message after downloading and installing Professional Trader: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on Ok to terminate the application"?

    If so, you will need to download Microsoft.Net before logging into CommSec Professional Trader. Click here to download.

    Is a special connection required for CommSec Professional Trader?

    CommSec Professional Trader connects to CommSec servers via the Internet.

    CommSec wishes to advise clients that CommSec Professional Trader may work on slower modem connections but consider that the service is intended for those users who have a connection to the Internet via a broadband connection such as Cable, DSL or LAN.

    Where a direct connection to the Internet is not available or a proxy server sits inline between your computer and the CommSec servers, the CommSec Professional Trader service may not be available.

    You should contact your Network Administrator or ISP to confirm whether access will be available.

    CommSec cannot guarantee that the application will function correctly in all networks.

    Will I still be able to use the CommSec web site?

    Definitely, you can choose to use either service at any time.

    How secure is CommSec Professional Trader?

    All information related to your account, including your login is encrypted with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which is the same technology used on the CommSec site to protect all of your personal information transactions.

    Will there be software upgrades?

    From time to time, CommSec Professional Trader will be updated to provide improvements. If an updated version of the software is available, clients will be required to download and install the latest version before using the CommSec Professional Trader service. This is to ensure that all clients are using the latest application and features.

    What technical support exists for CommSec Professional Trader?
