the risk premo in bonds will jump if the bond insurers fail. Maybe another credit market log jam. At least a couple of % rise in rates. Not good for stocks nor any other asset class. I imagine signs of weakness in bond insurers will be a downward pressure on stocks but you never know, maybe the market was expecting worse.
