    Hi MrGordon,
If you wish to have a good discussion about the relative merits of the definite/indefinite article , RM will give you a run for your money.

But from the scriptural perspective what effect does adding a simple word like {a} have at
    John 1:1
In the beginning the Word was, and the Word was with :God, and the Word was God.

    and the Word was God
and the Word was {a} god

    Gen 1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.........

MrGordon , you have to ask yourself are we made in the image of true God and {a} false god or
if the Word is not God and one Spirit with the Father, are we are made in the image of 2 gods which is not what
    Gen 1:27 states
And God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them

But it gets worse for you MrG, you believe that the Word is actually an angel and that we are made in the image of God and an angel
From there it is all down hill, this angel was first created and then by means of him all {other} things were created.

And the Word became flesh and the Lord Jesus was worshipped as a baby and by his disciples but you deny this worship.
When Jesus suffered and died for our sins and rose from the dead, MrGordon you deny that Jesus came in the flesh

At the recent memorial , where Jesus says this is my Body this is my Blood, you deny the real presence of the Lamb of God,
calling them emblems, you reject partaking of the bread of life and pass it on rather than drink from the cup of salvation, the blood of the covenant

    Matt 26:27-28
And he took a cup, and gave
thanks, and gave to them, saying, All ye drink of it; 28 for this is
my :blood of the covenant, : poured out for many unto remission
    of sins.

MrGordon look what happens when you add to the Holy Scriptures just one small word and thereby deny the Deity of Christ
Thomas doubted at first but when he saw Jesus risen in the flesh exclamed
    My Lord and my God
