Agree that current market sentiment is -ve.
However, based on today's closing prices, ANZ, SGB, WBC, ANZ are all yielding >5.0% (prior to franking credits), all with PE's <15.0.
Let's assume Martis' scenario of a further 500pts (8%) fall in Xao/Xjo eventuates. With this further decline, yields on these stocks will be 5.5%+ (before F/credits), and deemed as attractive buying by Fund Mgrs and investors alike. Probability would be that our markets will recover accordingly. {imo}
